Condition: Strong impression, deep velvety blacks in the sky and foreground. Full margins, deckle edges intact. Ambroise Vollard watermark legible against the light in the lower left margin. Sheet clean, light toning at the extreme edges. Unframed.

One of only six horizontal compositions in the fifty-eight plates. Rouault returned to this motif after 1930 in a painted variant, oil over an impression of the plate laid down on canvas.
