Description: Original cover designed by Alphonse Mucha for the June 1896 special issue of Le Figaro Illustré, devoted to the Parisian cafés-concerts. Mucha depicts an elegant young woman in a ruffled blouse and flowered hat, arms raised in delight, before the shaded terrace of a garden café. The typography becomes part of the composition, and the artist’s signature is worked into the tablecloth.
