Plate from L’Estampe Moderne, the celebrated subscription series published monthly in Paris from May 1897 to April 1899 by Ch. Masson and H. Piazza and printed by Imprimerie Champenois, each issue offering four original lithographs commissioned especially for the publication, complete with a captioned tissue guard. Bouisset is best known for the Chocolat Menier poster of 1893, the little girl chalking the brand on a wall; children were his lifelong subject and this young flower seller belongs to the same vein.
