A head reduced to three flat planes — stippled ochre ground, gold face and neck, black bob cut in one unbroken silhouette — the features carried by two heavy-lidded eyes and a closed mouth, a black bar closing the composition at lower left. Minaux, who learned lithography at the Mourlot studio from 1948, habitually pulled and annotated distinct states of his stones; this impression comes from a run of thirty-five taken from the first state.
