Portfolio bound in a hardback cover, with floral embossing on the blue linen. 16 pages, with 6 additional unbound pages, displaying some first trial before colors proofs. Very scarce!

This compilation gathers some etchings & aquatints, engraved by Charlotte Vandyck, after Claude Lorrain’s originals.

Hand-dedicated in French by Mrs. Henry Wellesley on the first page, in Oxford, 1854.

Several etchings are signed on the plate by Claude Lorrain.

+ Size of the book: 44 x 30 x 1 cm / 17,3 x 11,8 x 0,3 in.

Condition: The cover is in fair condition, damaged on the spine & on the corners, and slightly discolored. The internal is in fair/good condition apart from the torn spine, with soft handling creases at the edges, and several stains. The images are well-inked, with bright and vivid colors otherwise.
