Rare small-format version of one of Jean Carlu’s most celebrated posters, designed for the Aquarium of the Musée Océanographique de Monaco. The composition exemplifies Carlu’s mastery of Art Déco graphic language: the ocean sunfish (mola mola) is reduced to bold interlocking geometric planes of colour, achieving maximum visual impact with minimal means. Printed by Robert Lang, Paris.
This lithograph is the original, printed in 1928, not a later reprint or copy.
