Dimensions : Sight 27 × 22 cm (10.6 × 8.7 in.) — Frame 42.5 × 37 cm (16.7 × 14.6 in.)
Condition : Examined framed and glazed; only the sight area is visible, sheet edges and verso concealed by the passe-partout. Paper uniformly cream-toned. Scattered minor surface irregularities in the upper background, consistent with the paper grain. Slight rubbing to the black chalk in the veil area. Colours fresh, blues and reds unfaded. Presented in a gilt moulded frame with white passe-partout; frame with rubbing and losses to the gilding along the outer edges and corners, exposing the red bole. Framed.
Description : Executed in the interwar years, before Domergue’s post-war serial production of Art Deco élégantes. Grand Prix de Rome 1913, the artist later directed the Musée Jacquemart-André.
