Technical proof in color screenprinting on Masonite for the reproductions by the Modern Art Museum Munich (Villa Stuck), 1969

Dimensions:

Condition: In very good condition, light abrasion . Not framed.

Under the direction of Dr. Claus Bastian, the Modern Art Museum Munich (Villa Stuck) commissioned copies of three original paintings by Albers, executed to closely match the colors and support of the originals. The museum ordered 100 examples of each replica, intended to raise funds.

The present example is a technical proof in which the dimensions and proportions were altered to distinguish it from the intended edition. The number of such technical proofs produced is unknown. Three examples formerly in the possession of Dr. Claus Bastian are known today.
