Issued by one of the foremost Swiss venues for post-war original graphics, the Galerie im Erker and its press produced signed editions and annual greetings by many leading sculptors and painters of the period. The composition translates Chadwick’s signature angular, beast-like forms from his sculpture into spare lithographic line. The card carries the printed inscriptions “Wir wünschen ein gutes neues Jahr” and “Originallithographie von Lynn Chadwick.” Hand-signed examples of these Erker Jahresgaben are sought after by collectors of the artist’s graphic work.
