A moored barge and a low quay run across the sheet under a pale green sky, bare pollarded trees screening the ochre and grey blocks of the far bank, the bridge closing the composition at right; the water below carries the whole in broken dark reflections. Forissier builds the scene in flat superimposed tints with the drawing reduced to a few black strokes, the palette held to green-grey, ochre and rust.
