Provenance: Livre d’Or de Yves Guérin, compiled 1963–1992 (single-owner provenance). Both spouses are represented in the book: Roger Forissier (here and no. 38) and his wife, the painter Nathalie Chabrier (no. 3).

Description: The artist’s wife, the painter Nathalie Chabrier, at her easel — an intimate subject Forissier also treated as a signed lithograph (“La peintre dans son atelier”). One of the Jeunes peintres de la Nouvelle école de Paris (alongside Buffet, Jansem and Boitel) and a former pensionnaire of the Casa de Velázquez, Forissier was painting on the Riviera in 1962–64, the context for this 1963 dedication. Watercolour executed and dedicated by hand in the collector’s guest book.
