'Die Fläche' (literally, 'The surface'), produced in portfolio form, was formulated as a 'Musterbuch,' or pattern book, of graphic insignia and poster designs, including posters, book designs (including dust jackets and endpapers), advertisements, wallpapers, textiles and many more.
- 'Die Fläche,' like 'Ver Sacrum,' was conceived as an art object" (Kallir).
