WARHOL Andy

The American artist Andy Warhol was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh. His artworks, wavering between Pop Art and Modern Art, made him known as one the most influent artists of the 20th Century. Nicknamed the « Pope of Pop-Art » for leading the way in the 1960s, Andy Warhol developed an industrial approach of Art, through a prolific production, especially silkscreens. Nowadays, among Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol is one of the three most-rated artists is the world. Three-quarter of his sold artworks during auctions are prints, while those under 5 000 $ represented a threshold of 44% out of his whole sold artworks in 2021.
