This porcelain plate features one of the most iconic images by the “Pope of Pop Art”: Marilyn Monroe (1967). Andy Warhol’s celebrated series of screenprints depicting Marilyn Monroe was created after her death in August 1962. Each work is based on the same publicity still from her 1953 film Niagara. For Warhol, Marilyn embodied both beauty and the notion of eternal fame in American culture.
An emblematic decorative piece for Warhol collectors, reflecting his fascination with the sex symbol icon.
