Plate from the portfolio Hommage à Arthur Köpcke, published in 1979 by Den Danske Radeerforening af 1853, Copenhagen, in memory of the Fluxus pioneer Arthur “Addi” Köpcke (1928–1977); copies are held by Harvard Art Museums, mumok Vienna and The Broad, Los Angeles. Paik, the father of video art and a central protagonist of Fluxus, delivers one of the portfolio’s most memorable plates, its title a perfect Fluxus aphorism uniting music, destruction and friendship in memory of Köpcke.
