A head and shoulders built from interlocking flat planes of chrome yellow, sand and grey-green, the face reduced to two almond eyes and a small closed mouth, a second profile emerging in the drapery at left. Minaux worked the stone in soft granular tints here rather than in the hard black contour of his earlier lithographs.
