Description: A jay rendered in a swift, linear black felt-tip — a spontaneous study that foregrounds line over Bret’s characteristic colour. A French painter and a central figure of Côte d’Azur cultural life, Bret was professor at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Nice (1950) and director of the Marseille École des Beaux-Arts (1961). Drawn and dedicated by hand in the collector’s guest book.
