Description: Camargue horses — the single most iconic subject of Yves Brayer, master of the École de Paris and member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (1957). A lifelong traveller (Spain, Morocco, Italy) who settled in Provence and the Camargue, Brayer is celebrated for his luminous Mediterranean light and his lifelong passion for horses; the Musée Yves Brayer was founded at Les Baux-de-Provence in 1991. Painted in watercolour and dedicated by hand in the collector’s guest book.
