Description: A delicate pen-and-ink and watercolour view of Paris — the green Seine in the foreground, a stone bridge, and the colourful houses of the Île de la Cité (blue roofs, pink and yellow façades), with the spire of the Sainte-Chapelle and the twin towers of Notre-Dame rising behind, an arching branch of mauve foliage framing the right. Geneviève Marie Gallibert was a French painter, watercolourist and aviatrix, one of the first official Air painters (Peintre officiel de l’Air, 1935); known for her luminous watercolours of Provence, the Riviera and her travels, often in pen and wash in a manner compared to that of Yves Brayer. Signed, dated and dedicated by hand.
