Description: A hard-edge colour composition created specially for the landmark Stedelijk Museum portfolio designed by Wim Crouwel and printed by Total Design, Amsterdam. Georg Karl Pfahler was the foremost German representative of hard-edge painting, whose vibrant “Formativ” compositions of interlocking colour planes made him a key figure of post-war European colour abstraction; he later represented Germany at the Venice Biennale in 1970. The portfolio gathered original screenprints by Kelly, Bonies, Pfahler and Turnbull alongside a survey of contemporary abstraction (Albers, Newman, Stella, Judd, Vasarely, Noland and others).
