Description: An economical, flowing single-line drawing of two reclining female nudes, in the spare and sensual manner of Volti’s daily life studies. Antoniucci Volti was a French sculptor, draughtsman and lithographer of Italian origin, in the lineage of Aristide Maillol, who devoted his entire career to the female nude; Second Grand Prix de Rome (1936), he is held in the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, the Musée Matisse at Le Cateau-Cambrésis and the Musée Volti at Villefranche-sur-Mer. He drew every day from live models. Signed by hand.
